NORMAL – Illinois State University wants the public to help shape its future for the next generation.
President Larry Dietz has convened a 24-member task force called Educating Illinois that’s soliciting feedback though an online survey on how the university can best reflect its vision, mission and core values in its strategic plan over the next five years.
“Think about how fast things have changed and you’ve got to be able to keep up with that especially in higher education to prepare students,” ISU spokesman Rachel Hatch said.
ISU is also hosting a second open forum at 10 a.m. in the Old Main Room at Bone Student Center.
Hatch said the survey asks what makes you most proud of ISU, where do you wants to see it go in the next 15 to 20 years, what must it do in the next five years and what challenges would the university face in meeting those goals.
“It is something that shapes our values and our visions for the next five years and so we want to get as much input as we possibly can from the community, from students, from everybody who has anything to do with ISU or has heard of ISU,” Hatch said.
The survey will be available through Feb. 24. The survey can be found here.
