NORMAL – One person is dead following an accident between a semi and a Mack truck on Interstate 55 near mile marker 167 in Normal Wednesday afternoon.
McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis said her office was called to the scene at 2:45 p.m. The driver of the semi was pronounced dead a little after 3 p.m. The driver’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The Mack truck driver was taken to a local hospital.
Davis added the crash remains under investigation by the McLean County Coroner’s Office and the Illinois State Police.
