BLOOMINGTON – A McLean County judge has refused to lower bond for a Bloomington man who is charged with fraud for allegedly stealing from others retirement accounts.
Derek Gordon, 44, has been charged with theft by deception, fraud and money laundering. He allegedly stole more than $725,000 from three men. Judge Casey Costigan ruled against Gordon’s attempt to have his $25,000 bond reduced, going against a court services report which recommended Gordon be released on his own recognizance.
A trial date has not been set. Gordon’s next court date is Nov. 28.
