A plea deal has been reached with a Chicago man accused of bringing the drug ecstasy to preview weekend in July at Hewitt Hall on the campus of Illinois State University.
40 year old Shawn Childs Senior is pleading guilty to a lesser offense after it was found the drug was not ecstasy, but a synthetic form of the drug known as Cathinone. The synthetic drug has been compared to bath salts.
Childs Senior will serve 30 months probation. He allegedly sold the pill to another person who then put it in a girl’s drink. Childs Junior is charged with sexually assaulting a woman who took the pill.
