BLOOMINGTON – While many Chicago Cubs fans were partying into the early morning after their team’s World Series win, others were hard at work helping to make history.
Minerva Promotions in Bloomington went to work shortly before midnight producing 6,000 Cubs World Series champion t-shirts through its contract with Major League Baseball.
Owner Tony Todaro said it was tough waiting through such an up-and-down game but once the final out was recorded, he and his staff went to work.
“We got off and printing about an hour-and-a-half later than we wanted to and we had a spectacular night,” Todaro said. “I had about 18 fantastic employees show up who are very committed.”
Todaro said he hopes the shirt becomes a collector’s item. He said it will be for him as a lifelong Cubs fan.
“As a fan and a businessman, it’s definitely a collector’s item,” Todaro said. “It’s something we are very proud of. It’s not every day you get called to help fulfill the ‘big leagues’ and be part of history.
The shirts are on their way to stores in Illinois and Wisconsin.
