BLOOMINGTON – It’s been four years since his son died, but a Bloomington man is now facing murder charges in the case.
24 year old Ryan S. Howard is already behind bars after pleading guilty in 2012 for aggravated battery of a child.
Court records says Howard shook his child in 2011 and the infant suffered a traumatic brain injury and died eight months later. An autopsy found the child ultimately died from the brain injuries.
Court documents suggest Howard shook the baby because he was angry at the child’s mother. Text messages also reveal threats to leave the baby outside.
Howard is currently serving a 15 year sentence on the aggravated battery charges.
