LEXINGTON – You may not find a more dedicated Cub fan than Betty Wagner of Lexington.
In fact, Wagner has a bottle of Cubs wine from the 1980’s. She’s waiting for a Cubs World Series win to drink it.
Wagner says she thought last year was going to be the year.
“I think they were so young,” said Wagner. “I think they just kind of got excited or just kind of froze in playing that game to get into the final playoffs. That was a young team. When you consider the average age of this team is 26 years old, that’s pretty young.”
Wagner has become a local celebrity after the City of Lexington posted some pictures of her cub memorabilia on Facebook. Thousands have viewed the items.
