NORMAL – Traffic is flowing again in Normal near Kingsley and Osage.
There was a two car accident with minor injuries around 1:30 p.m. A truck proceeded to hit the Flats apartment building causing a gas leak.
Ameren Illinois shut off power to the building as crews began work.
The building was evacuated for hours.
Leeann Merritt works for the Flats and told WJBC News another vehicle cut off the truck causing it to crash into the building.
Merritt says everyone that was inside the building is now safe.
The Normal Fire Department says residents are safe to return home.
