BLOOMINGTON – If your teen is looking to have fun while building life skills such as independence and confidence, Youth Development Educator Carolyn Hansen says you might want to give 4-H a chance.
“But, if they were to look at the features and benefits really from the sales perspective of 4-H, who wouldn’t want their kid to be in an organization that believes in belonging, independence, generosity, and mastery,” said Hansen.
At a recent national 4-H convention a goal was set of adding six million children to the program in the United States. Hansen says when the kids come and see what’s available through 4-H they want to join. To join or volunteer as a group leader contact McLean County’s Illinois Extension office at 663-8306.
The organization recently added robotics to its list of programs.
