BLOOMINGTON – Togas are often associated with ancient Greeks and frat parties, but an upcoming event in Bloomington is connecting them to fitness.
Conquer the Coliseum is a fitness challenge scheduled for Saturday, November 5. Participants will move through a course throughout U.S. Cellular Coliseum that contains over 15 obstacles.
“Participants will be tasked with running, climbing stairs and various obstacles, all while wearing a toga if they choose,” Denise Balagna of Bloomington Parks and Recreation said.
Balagna added there will also be a spectator area and a post-event party with food and beverages for sale. The best togas will receive awards and everyone receives a T-shirt and a medal. She says friends and family members are welcome to watch.
“There will be a specator area and a post party with food and beverages for sale,” said Balagna.
Conquer the Coliseum begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 5th. More information and sign-up is at itsracetime.com. Cost is $49, $60 that day.
