BLOOMINGTON – A man from Bloomington is facing 20 criminal charges for allegedly stealing $725,000 from the retirement funds of three clients.

A warrant was issued for Derek Gordon after an indictment by a McLean County grand jury. The alleged scheme also supposedly involved forging documents which falsely inflated the value of investment funds by more than $1.6 million.

Gordan has been charged with theft by deception by allegedly taking $525,000 from one person and more than $100,000 each from two other victims’ retirement accounts.

The charges claim the thefts occurred between October 2012 and July 2015.
