BLOOMINGTON – An apparent road rage case has been resolved in McLean County with the driver pleading guilty to lesser charges.
Randy Crump, 62 of Eureka, a retired school superintendent, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges after a mistrial was declared on felony counts of reckless driving and reckless conduct in connection with an incident near Hudson in June of last year in which a cyclist crashed while trying to avoid Crump after he slammed his brakes in front of him.
The cyclist, Dean Davis, was seriously injured and has filed a civil suit against Crump. Crump was sentenced to 18 months conditional discharge and was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service.
