WELLINGTON – A former McLean county man says he is far enough from the coast in south Florida that he will not be evacuating.
Perry Cole lives in Wellington, Florida about 20 miles from the ocean. He says this is the first hurricane for many.
“People who live in Palm Beach county are not from Palm Beach county,” said Cole. “This is the, Wellington where I live, is the horse capital of the world for equestrian and polo. So there are people coming into town. They’re not from here. They’re not used to hurricanes.”
Cole is originally from Lexington.
