BLOOMINGTON- WJBC has learned that Bloomington Ward 1 Alderman Kevin Lower is tossing his hat in the race for Bloomington Mayor.
The southside Bloomington alderman plans to make his announcement at 11:30 Saturday morning at the Illinois Wesleyan University homecoming tailgate.
Lower got his start in public service as a Precinct Committeeman in Bloomington. He was elected to the City Council in April 2013.
He joins current Bloomington mayor Tari Renner and fellow council member and Ward 8 Alderman Diana Hauman as the only candidates in the race so far.
