LINCOLN – A crash on Interstate 55 north of Lincoln has claimed the life of a man from Normal.
State police say the victim was 41-year-old Aaron Kolls. Police say the man was driving northbound near Lawndale at about 11 p.m. Wednesday when he struck the guardrail and became disabled in the middle of the road. Kolls’ vehicle was struck by two semi-tractor trailer units.
Kolls was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the semi drivers was treated and released from Memorial Hospital in Springfield. No injuries were reported to the other truck driver.
Northbound I-55 was closed between Lincoln and Atlanta until about 1 p.m.
