Bloomington-Normal will be represented at a long-standing event this weekend bringing together business and goverment leaders from the Midwest and Japan.
Bloomington-Normal Economic Development Council CEO Kyle Ham said this weekend’s conference in St. Louis provides chances to network with companies and elected officials from both continents.
“The conference started in 1967 and was just some business leaders and elected officials getting together to think about ways they could work together,” Ham told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin. “It’s grown rapidly over the past decades to the point where 10 governors will be there.”
Ham says the weekend provides a good opportunity to promote the former Mitsubishi plant as well as property in north Normal and near Central Illinois Regional Airport.
