BLOOMINGTON – For the second time this week, a mosquito pool from the 61705 zip code has tested positive for West Nile virus.
Last week, the McLean County Heath Department reported three indicators of West Nile virus activity. It was determined one person had a probable case of the disease.
A bird and mosquito pool also tested positive for the illness.
Residents are being told to wear protective clothing, apply insect repellent containing DEET, and report dead birds and standing water sources.
