BLOOMINGTON – Something as simple as a pair of shoes can help someone start a new life.
Home Sweet Home Spokeswoman Leslie Bungee says the latest OSF Home Sweet Home Ministries shoe drive is being considered a huge success.
More than 3500 pounds of shoes were donated.
“People can come into our Mission Mart for a very reasonable low price and get a brand new pair of shoes for not even a fraction of the price,” said Bungee. “It can help them gain confidence and make them look good and be used for their first job interview or something like that.”
Bungee says many of the shoes donated were like new.
