BLOOMINGTON – An event giving kids the chance to experience big construction equipment up close is returning this weekend.
Day of the Dozer is this Saturday from 10 a.m. till 4 p.m. at the McLean County Fairgrounds. One of the event organizers, Paul Segobiano, said kids will get a memento of the day:
“Not only do they get to be on the big machinery, but they also get a hard hat just like all the construction workers wear,” Segobiano told WJBC’s Patti Penn. “As they drive down the road and see the workers with the yellow hats on, they’ll have one also.”
Tickets are $5 in advance at HyVee in Bloomington. Tickets are $7 at the gate but admission is limited to 1,500 so advance tickets are recommended. Proceeds go to the Stay 4 Project designed to keep students in school.
