SPRINGFIELD – It’s been cheaper to fill your tank up this year than last and that trend looks to continue.
GasBuddy.com says that the state’s average gas prices have backed off another 1.4 cents a gallon this week. Statewide averages are about 50 cents less than this time last year and about 25 cents less than last month.
Gas prices averaged $2.27 in Illinois last month and currently average $2.15.
In McLean County, AAA reports self-serve regular unleaded gasoline averages $2.07 per gallon, which is 28 cents lower than last month and 52 cents lower than last year.
