Thunder releases 2016-17 schedule

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Thunder has bookend home games against the Muskegon Lumberjacks and two mid-January games against USHL champion Tri-City during the 2016-17 season.

The Thunder and USHL released the scheduled on Wednesday. The Thunder will have 30 home games, starting with the Sept. 24 season opener against Muskegon.

Working with local libraries and schools, the team looks to top its 2015 opener of 3,700 fans in the Coliseum.

The team will also bring back the National Wild Turkey Federation game on Jan. 13 against the Tri-City Storm. The team will wear camouflage jerseys and auction them off to the fans in addition to raffles from the NWTF.

Other promotions throughout the season include the third annual Chicago Blackhawks, Pink in the Rink, Star Wars & Teddy Bear Toss games. New to the spectrum are Ugly Sweater Night and Nascar Night which will each feature their own specialty jersey and auction this season. Dates for these and other promotions this season will be released at a later date.

The home and regular season finale will be April 8 vs. Muskegon.
