BLOOMINGTON – It’s kind of like a garage sale expect everything is free.
It’s been five years since Torii Moré and a few of her friends came up with the idea of a Really Really Free market, what is now a monthly every during the spring and summer at Miller Park in Bloomington.
“We are just trying to plug the idea into people’s brains that maybe we can share our material goods more often than having to go out and purchase them,” Moré said.
Moré said it’s a shame to let anything good go to waste and she knows from experience.
“I was pretty active in dumpster diving in 2010,” Moré said. “Just driving around the community, you still do see a lot of really useful things being thrown away, things sitting out on the curb.”
People can drop off anything they think someone else might want and can shop around for freebies they might want.
The market is hosting an anniversary celebration from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. that will include guided mediation, doggie nail clipping, watercolor painting and a solar telescope demonstration, all free.
