NORMAL – Next month will see the return of the charity music festival Bruegala, sponsored by the Bloomington-Normal Jaycees, which will be held on the 26th and 27th of August at the Corn Crib.
The event will offer over 300 types of beer, more than 50 variations of wine, food vendors, and music throughout the two days. Bruegala spokeswoman Leslie Romagnoli explained that they wanted to use last year as a reference for how to improve the festival this year.
“We’re really excited, we’ve been working hard all summer making sure we have polished up some details that we wanted to make better from last year, and just getting everything organized,” said Romagnoli.
Romagnoli also said how, with the amount of alcohol at the event, buses and shuttles will be available for the public to use to get from the Corn Crib to Uptown Normal safely.
“This year we’ve got it worked out with First Student to have buses and shuttles running from the Corn Crib to Maggie Miley’s and Fat Jack’s, so that will be an option for people. Also, Connect Transit’s bus line is going to run right from Uptown to the Corn Crib,” said Romagnoli.
Friday night will be a more rock-oriented night, with a line-up that includes Nicotine Poetic, Dan Hubbard, and Trippin Billies. Saturday will see country performers like Old Smoke, Whiskey’s Gone, Lindsey Ell, and Brett Young.
Charities being benefited by the event are The Tool Library, Wish Bone Canine Rescue, Max’s Miles Foundation, Community Healthcare Clinic, Marcfirst, and the McLean County Museum of History.
