BLOOMINGTON – The annual Heritage Awards are an opportunity for the City of Bloomington to honor residents for their commitment to preserving the unique, historic identity of the city.
The city is currently accepting nominations for recipients-those who by their vision, talents and hard work have made an exemplary contribution to the preservation of the city’s built environment and irreplaceable character.
Winners from 2015 include:
· Diana Krieg and Dawn Peters for the restoration of the property located at 402 E. Grove Street
· Stephen J. Burkart for the restoration of the property located at 607 S. Clinton Street
· Mike and Judy Evans for the restoration of the property located at 701 W. Wood Street
· Joe and Ruth Haney for the restoration and adaptive reuse of the property located at 407-409 W. Washington Street
Nomination applications are available on the city’s website at www.cityblm.org. Public and privately-owned properties are eligible for an award for exterior improvements.
Winners will be selected by the Bloomington Historic Preservation Commission on Sept. 15.
