BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington City Council expects to learn more next week about a developer’s proposal for a downtown hotel.
City Manager David Hales said the council will hear on Monday from consultant Steve Friedman, who reviewed information submitted by Commonwealth Hotels and developer Jeff Giebelhausen about the proposed hotel including what kind of public contribution they’d like to have.
“That is one of the key issues right now that they’re asking for,” Hales told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin, “that in order for them to move forward there has to be that discussion in addition to all the information they submitted.”
The council is expected to review the hotel report and proposal on Monday during a committee of the whole meeting.
