BLOOMINGTON – Infrastructure needs to be the number one priority for Bloomington.
That’s according to 5th Ward Bloomington City Council candidate Lupe Diaz.
“Raising taxes and the budget and not funding the streets,” said Diaz. “Ya know one or two million dollars for the streets when it’s going to cost anywhere between $50 or 65 million to get what we need. It’s just like the downtown hotel they’re talking about needing 50 million dollars, ok, why cant we use that $50 or 60 million to fix the streets?”
Diaz tells WJBC’s Terry James that the city has numerous potholes and other road repairs that need to take a higher priority.
