BLOOOMINGTON – At the Coliseum in Bloomington several staff members that were employed by Central Illinois Arena Management have been let go under new management company VenuWorks.
Bloomington Mayor Tari Renner said he understood the employees would be kept on for 60 to 90 days before being re-evaluated by VenuWorks.
“And to see, essentially, if they wanted to stay with VenuWorks and if Venuworks wanted them to stay,” said Renner. “At least, at 500 feet that was the agreement.”
Renner was hopeful VenuWorks will bring on more employees to fill vacancies at the Coliseum.
“We’re hoping, frankly, to get them busier at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum so that there are more things to do,” he said.
VenuWorks took over the Coliseum in April.
