BLOOMINGTON – McLean County State’s Attorney Jason Chambers continues to work with law enforcement to reduce drug use in the county.
Chambers tells WJBC’s Dan Swaney some of those that overdose are starting their drug addictions with more powerful pills.
“They are starting with other prescription pills,” said Chambers. “They are starting with stuff like adderall. So they are not abusing the alcohol and the cannibas, but they are abusing adderall, so we treat aderall as a serious offense as well because it does lead to that progression and is an illegal substance.”
Chambers says there are drug users who wrongly believe that because pills come from a doctor they are safe.
