Normal parks director taking similar job in Kansas

NORMAL – The Normal Parks and Recreation Director has resigned to take a similar position in Kansas.

Chris Cotten took over the department last June. The town says Cotten is leaving for personal and family reasons effective July 1. Normal City Manager Mark Peterson says Cotten will be missed but completely understands and supports the decision.

No timeline is set to replace Cotten, but Peterson says programs are set for the summer and will proceed without any problem.
