BLOOMINGTON – Hate will not be tolerated. That was the message more than 100 members of the Bloomington-Normal LGBT community and their straight allies brought to the streets of downtown Bloomington Monday Night.
It was in response to horrific shooting in Orlando. Kristo Ortiz of Bloomington carried a large rainbow flag from the Bistro nightclub to Withers park.
“I think it shows that we are united,” said Ortiz. “I think this is a great turnout that was produced in less than 24 hours. We are here to show them that we are one and we are united and fear will not win.”
Rain started falling in downtown Bloomington before the march to Withers park.
A rainbow covered the sky as men, women, and children said no to violence against any human being.
