BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington aldermen will get their first look Monday night at the final contract with VenuWorks, the new managers of U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
VenuWorks has been working under as 90 day contract since taking over the site on April 1. City attorney Jeff Jurgens explained this agreement is similar to the 90 day one, but it includes more specifics.
“It is much more detailed in terms of the accounting, and the budgetary and finance issues, and what has to be performed,” said Jurgens. “It remains that the commissions on sales would be 5 percent, as well as the commissions on concessions, food and beverage, would be at 5 percent.”
Jurgens added VenuWorks has been “great” to work with so far.
“We have no problem getting in contact with them. The company’s president is always available if there’s any questions or issues or concerns,” he said.
Also on Monday, the council will discuss the idea of sharing sales tax revenue between Bloomington and Normal and possibly vote on creating video gambling fees in the city.
