BLOOMINGTON – The new executive director of the U.S. Cellular Coliseum is putting an emphasis on transparency.
Curtis Webb was appointed by VenuWorks, the operator of the Coliseum, last month. Webb was previously at a VenuWorks operated facility in Bemidji, Minn.
“We want the community and the people in the community to know what we’re all about,” said Webb. “Understanding the numbers, how we do on shows, understanding how on monthly financials, yearly financials – that kind of stuff the public should be aware of.”
VenuWorks officially took over operation of the Coliseum in April. Webb added they’re putting a major focus on cleaning the building this summer.
“We’re coming in here like we do at any other venue. This isn’t new for us. We’re going to work with the client, the city. It’s their building,” said Webb. “We’re going to maintain the building itself really well.”
Cleaning the venue and making it more open and welcoming is something Webb said they are putting a focus on this summer.
