UPDATE: The lock down has been lifted
PEORIA – Caterpillar officials say the downtown building in Peoria is under lock down right now because of a potential threat.
Our news partner WMBD-TV says the company spokesperson put out a statement. The statement said Caterpillar was made aware of a credible workplace violence threat to a downtown Peoria Caterpillar building.
At this time they are unsure if the threat will impact any other Peoria-area buildings.
Out of an abundance of caution, they have placed employees in the Peoria area on lock down. Law enforcement officers have also been placed at Peoria-area Caterpillar facilities.
