A man wanted in connection with a homicide investigation in Indiana has died during a traffic stop in Bloomington.
State police and McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis say a trooper southbound on Interstate 55 near the Market Street exit last night spotted a gold-colored Chevrolet Impala connected to the Hammond, Indiana investigation. The vehicle was stopped but the driver refused to exit. Police say a shot was fired from inside the car and the driver was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot. Davis and police say no officer fired their weapons.
The man’s identity has not been released. An autopsy is scheduled for today.
