NORMAL – Illinois State University President Larry Dietz has named Levester Johnson as vice president for the Division of Student Affairs.
Johnson is currently the vice president for student affairs at Butler University, a position he’s held since 1997. Before that, Johnson was a coordinator of residence life and hall director at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
“Levester Johnson brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to his new role in the Division of Student Affairs at Illinois State,” said Dietz in a news release. “He has a deep understanding of all aspects of student affairs work, from residential life and student conduct to diversity and leadership. His engaging, student-centered approach and collaborative leadership style will be a valuable asset to the University.”
Johnson said he is excited to join “a student-centered institution like Illinois State University.”
Johnson will begin at ISU on July 1.
