Dean L. Nussbaum, 92, of Fairbury and formerly of Chatsworth, went to be with his Lord at 3:10 am Friday, April 1, 2016, at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, April 4, 2016, at the Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest, where he was a member for 70 years, with ministers of the church officiating.  Burial will be in the North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, rural Forrest.  Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dean’s name may be made to the Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury, or the Apostolic Christian Harvest Call, P.O. Box 3797, West Lafayette, IN 47996.

Dean was born December 21, 1923, in Forrest, IL, a son of Ira and Leona Abersol Nussbaum.  He married Betty L. Metz on January 12, 1946, in Pontiac, IL.  She preceded him in death on June 14, 2013.

He is survived by his children, Terry (Deborah) Nussbaum, Fairbury; Luann (Jerold) Endress, Dunlap; Jay (M. Ann) Nussbaum, Bloomington; and Elaine (Lynn) Stoller, Gridley; fourteen grandchildren, Joseph Livingston, Abby (Dan) Eisenman, Lucas (Raya) Nussbaum, Tessa (Ben) Herr, Clint (Stefanie) Endress, Troy (Lindsay) Endress, Brett (Cassie) Endress, Ty (Erin) Endress,  Will (Alexis) Nussbaum, Casey (Tyler) Zimmerman, Candice (Michael) Dohman, Holly (Will) Kellenberger, Natalie (Tommy) Hoerr, and Wendy (Josh) Schick; 39 great-grandchildren, and four sisters, Leona, Janice and Carol Nussbaum, Fairbury; and Doris Huber, Bloomington.

He is preceded in death by one grandson, Jacob Nussbaum, five brothers, Alden, Willis, Wayne, Byron, and Glen Nussbaum.

Dean had a great love for his Lord, his church, and his children and grandchildren.  His hobbies included woodworking and spending time at his pond.  He owned and operated Nussbaum Chevrolet and Oldsmobile, Chatsworth, and farmed in the Livingston County area for many years. His family appreciated the example he set and his optimistic outlook on life.
