BLOOMINGTON – The Salvation Army is asking for the public’s help as they search for donations of a variety of items.
Items can be donated to the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, which manages the Salvation Army’s thrift stores throughout Central Illinois. Captain Robin Rutledge said they accept donations of just about everything, though there are a few exceptions.
“We can’t take things like paint or household cleaners,” Rutledge said. “We also can’t take TV’s that are more than five years old. We do take furniture, household items, bath towels, clothes, the list goes on. You name it, it’s probably been through here.”
Clothing is one of The Salvation Army’s biggest needs heading into the spring.
“We’re getting a little afraid that now’s the time that we need to get some clothes in here,” said Rutledge. “We take all kinds of clothes.”
Donations can be made locally at the Salvation Army’s Bloomington location, by calling 1-800-SA-TRUCK or by visiting satruck.org.
