NORMAL – The fight has just begun for President Obama when it comes to his Supreme Court Nominee Merrick Garland.
However, there is one thing that may change the mind of Republicans.
Most Republicans in Washington are fighting against confirmation hearings for Garland. Illinois State University Supreme Court Scholar Meghan Leonard says we still have a lot to learn about the President’s pick.
“What we know is that he is a moderate, center-left, some people have called him the Kennedy of the liberals,” said Leonard. “We don’t know all that much on where he stands on some of the more controversial issues.”
Leonard says as November approaches, many Republicans may change their minds if it looks like the democrat nominee may win the election. The worry being that person’s choice may be even more liberal.
