BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington aldermen will vote Monday night on what would be the first step in supporting a new hotel in downtown.
A developer has proposed a $50 million project and has requested $13 million from the city to help make it happen.
Economic Development Coordinator Austin Grammer explained this resolution is just a first step for the city.
“It’s a preliminary official step expressing the council’s support to see redevelopment happen on this property,” he said.
Grammer said this resolution directs city staff to begin the process of creating economic development incentives at the property. He added it does not mean the city is committing funding.
