BLOOMINGTON – An incident in South Bloomington this morning had the staff at Bloomington Meats asking where’s the beef?
A determined cow made it all the way from the meat shop on Bunn Street to South Main during this morning’s commute. Debbie Lesher of Bloomington Meats tells WJBC the cow took off while being unloaded from a trailer. He ran to an apartment complex on Tracy Drive. Lesher says it’s happened before.
“It has,” says Lesher. “They usually go to the trailer court, but that’s been five or six years ago we’ve had something get loose. We handle beef three times a week and it’s very rare.”
Bloomington Police say the cow damaged a vehicle and charged an officer before being shot.
