BLOOMINGTON – Home Sweet Home Ministries hopes to provide more care to more people in need through a fitness fundraiser.

The third annual Run for Hope on Saturday, March 26 begins and ends at Home Sweet Home’s warehouse operations center in west Bloomington and runs west along the Constitution Trail. Spokeswoman Chyanne Corrigan told WJBC’s Scott Laughlin the 10K, 5K and Kids Fun Run support the ministry’s shelter and food pantry, Bridge of Hope program which helps single mothers and the Bread for Life co-op.

“We switched from a pantry model to a co-op model two years ago so people could come in and they can work and get food in the coop,” Corrigan said. “They get a lot more food than they ever did in the pantry. It’s more relational, they are getting to know one another. it’s been awesome.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
