Bloomington man arrested after assault weapon seized from home

BLOOMINGTON – Police seized an assault rifle from a home after a man reportedly threatened to shoot someone during a confrontation at a home on the city’s west side on Wednesday morning.

Bloomington Police were called to the 800 block of West Washington Street at 11:23 a.m. to investigate a report of an armed subject attempting to confront someone at their residence. The suspect reportedly brandished an assault weapon and threatened to shoot the victim. The suspect then fled on foot.

BPD’s SWAT team and crisis negotiation unit responded to the suspect’s home in the 1000 block of West Monroe Street and recovered the weapon.

Charles Foster, 23, faces a host of weapons charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm with a defaced serial number and unlawful use of a weapon. He was booked at the McLean County Jail.
