BLOOMINGTON – The Red Kettle Campaign isn’t the only time the public can help The Salvation Army.
Spokeswoman for the Salvation Army of McLean County Angie Fulton talked about the upcoming Red Shield Classic Golf Outing at The Den at Fox Creek on June 3.
“It’s a way for us to raise some money in our offseason when people aren’t thinking about us as much,” Fulton said. “So we’re still looking for sponsors and golfers right now. We already have Commerce Bank and some others as sponsors. It’s a great way to support a great cause and get the name of your business out there.”
Fulton said The Salvation Army is also looking for hygiene products.
“Diapers, shampoo and razors are just a few,” said Fulton. “That helps the shelter and also helps our food pantry and emergency assistance programs. People are referred to us if they don’t have enough money to get what they need for their kids or themselves. We always need hygiene products.”
