BLOOMINGTON – The mother of a child who was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend has been found unfit to care for her new child.
Danielle Bagley, formerly Danielle Fischer, is awaiting a sentence on child endangerment charges after her three-year-old son Robbie Cramer died in March 2013.
Her ex-boyfriend, Nicholas Compton, is serving a life sentence for Cramer’s death.
Judge Kevin Fitzgerald said Bagley and her new husband are in denial about what happened to Cramer, and that’s why they can’t take care of their newborn.
A court-appointed guardian has been caring for the child since criminal proceedings started against Bagley. Fitzgerald said the child could be returned to Bagley and her new husband in a year and a status hearing has been set for July 19.
