BLOOMINGTON – State Farm is offering tips for a safe Super Bowl weekend.
Spokesman Missy Dundov explained if you’re playing host for a Super Bowl party, it’s easy to get distracted, so it’s important to keep an eye on the kitchen and whatever you might be cooking.
“Unattended kitchen fires are the biggest cause of kitchen fires that we’ve found here at State Farm,” she said.
Dundov added the forecast isn’t calling for bad weather in Central Illinois this weekend, but it’s never a bad idea to have your car prepared for emergencies if you’re traveling for a party.
“Make sure that your truck is cleared out of any junk,” said Dundov. “Make sure you’ve got any necessities if you’re stranded on the side of the road; a shovel, or ice scraper, flashlights, jumper cables, etc.”
Plus, if you’re plan on drinking alcohol, Dundov said it’s a good idea to arrange a designated driver before you get to the party.
