Winifred Myer obit photoWinifred “Winnie” L. Myer, 92 of Normal, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday (January 19, 2016) at 10:03am at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal.

Winnie’s service will be held on Saturday (January 23, 2016) at 10am at Calvary Baptist Church, Normal, Illinois with Pastor Josh Wredberg officiating. Following services burial will take place in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be held on Friday (January 22, 2016) from 4-7pm at the church.

Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Normal.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.

Winnie was born on August 1, 1923 in Normal, Illinois the daughter of James and Opal Crowe Foster. She married Charles “Charlie” Myer in August of 1940 in Normal.

Winnie is survived by her children; Ronald (Magda) Myer of Riverview, Florida and Rita Piercy of Normal, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren and 2 sisters; Mary Richards of Oregon and Rita Jostes of Monticello, Illinois.

She is preceded by both her parents, 3 brothers and grandson and his wife; Curt and Linda Piercy.

Winnie and her husband lived and farmed on the family farm in Chenoa for many years before moving to Normal.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 40+ years, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School. She was a talented cook known for her homemade Pecan Pies and Rolls. Winnie loved children especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She will be dearly missed by all her family.
