Driver killed in SUV, semi crash near Heyworth

HEYWORTH – The driver of a sport utility vehicle was killed in a collision with a semitrailer south of Heyworth on Thursday.

The crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on U.S. 51 near McLean County Road 100 North. McLean County Coroner Kathy Davis said the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name has not yet been released pending notification of family. They were wearing a seat belt. There’s no information available about the semi driver.
