BLOOMINGTON – The city of Bloomington is taking applications for its Bloomington 101 course this Spring.
City spokeswoman Nora Dukowitz said the program gives citizens a look at all facets of city government.
“Everything from Police and Fire to Parks and Rec, it’s a very hands-on, interactive program,” Dukowitz said. “Our participants so far have really enjoyed it. This is our 4th time holding Bloomington 101 and our staff really enjoys it as well.
The class meets for two hours every Thursday from March 31 to June 2. Its free and open to anyone age 16 or older, although Dukowitz says Bloomington residents will be given priority if the city hits its cap of 20 participants. Those who were placed on a waitlist for the last Bloomington 101 session will also be given priority if they apply again.
Applications will be accepted online at cityblm.org or at City Hall until Feb. 12.
