BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington is giving its Public Works department some help when it comes to storm cleanup.
“Typically, our Streets and Sewers employees are doing other efforts and so we’re pulling multiple people out of that area and also employees out of Parks and Recreation to be able to help as well,” Public Works Director Jim Karch said.
Karch said the extra crews will be out cleaning up down tree limbs and excess brush starting next week.
“The city understands that there’s just a tremendous amount of brush right now in people’s back yards and their front yards all around the community,” Karch said. “In an effort to try and help get things done and cleaned up, we’re trying to give that extra push, kind of an all hands on deck-type response.”
Karch said people should put any excess brush or tree limbs on the curb by Monday.
