BLOOMINGTON – Ameren Illinois and Corn Belt Energy continue their work on broken poles and downed power lines after Monday’s winter storm.
According to a release from Ameren Illinois, outages could still exist for those in the WJBC listening area until early Tuesday evening. With 83,000 outage restored so far, work continues to restore power to customers after a winter storm brought down more than 200 poles and 800 wires across Ameren’s service territory. Crews are experiencing unpassable roads and some difficulty reaching downed wires and poles.
The following are estimated restoration times, which may change on weather conditions. Bloomington/Buda/Manlius/Knoxville: 5 p.m. Tue, Goodfield: 2 p.m. Tues, Blandinsville: 6 p.m. Tues, El Paso: 10 p.m. Tues, Peoria: 8 a.m. Wed.
Corn Belt Energy reports about 5,100 of its members are still without power, including about 850 in McLean County. Corn Belt says crews from six other cooperatives have assisted in restoring power to its members and in removing downed trees. There is no estimated restoration time.
